Rob Lowe up for People's Choice Award tonight

Dayton-raised actor Rob Lowe is up for a People's Choice Award for Favorite Actor in a New TV Series for his role on "The Grinder."

The People's Choice Awards air tonight at 9 p.m. on WHIO-TV (CBS).

Lowe also is up for a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Series.

Lowe, who was born in Charlottesville, Va., was raised in Dayton, where he began his acting career in local television and theater when he was 8 years old.

Rob Lowe recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
