BEER FOR BREAKFAST: Milano’s to host ‘First Pour’ event Monday morning

No, that “8 a.m.” is NOT a misprint.

Milano's Pizza, Subs & Taps at 1834 Brown St. will host a party starting at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, to celebrate Ohio's first official Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) 2017 Christmas Ale "First Pour" event.

The event is free and open to the public. It and will kick off with kegs and eggs, and with Santa delivering the season’s first pours of Great Lakes’ holiday staple Christmas Ale, along with some festive Christmas cookies, according to a GLBC release. The Cleveland-based brewery will give away holiday gift bags every half hour throughout the day.

Guests are also encouraged to wear their favorite “ugly Christmas sweater” for a chance to win a GLBC branded Coleman retro-style mini-fridge.

Great Lakes Brewing, which helped usher in the craft-beer movement in Ohio, has brewed its Christmas Ale since 1992. The original recipe featuring fresh honey, cinnamon, and ginger, has remained unchanged, brewery officials said.
