As the old saying goes, you snooze you lose.
But even some or us who didn’t snooze and had our credit cards and refresh button ready were left out of the party.
Both nights of Dave Chappelle’s Juke Joint at The Barn On Whitehall Farms at Tecumseh Land Trust sold out in the blink of an eye. Literally within 15 minutes to be more precise.
The sale for the shows set for this weekend on Sunday and Monday was originally promoted to start at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, on Davesjukejoint.com. But it was pushed back to 7:30 p.m.
Many ticket-seekers refreshed their screens and refreshed their screens but never got a chance to nab a golden ticket.
The venue is a working farm, and spaces were limited.
Tickets were $100 for the baler area (premium admission), $70 for the homestead area (general admission) and $25 for the barn yard (lawn only).
The cellphone-free parties will feature D-Nice and Fred Yonnet and The Band With No Name.

This is a cell-phone free event. With the purchase of this ticket you agree to place your phone in a locked pouch that you will maintain throughout the evening. If you need to use your phone, there will be unlocking stations outside of the barn.
You must be 21 and over to attend. ID’s will be checked and must match the name on the ticket. Attendees without a valid ID will not be admitted. Valid ID includes state or federal issued identification card. Must include photo and date of birth.
Tickets for Dave Chappelle’s Juke Joint are extremely limited and only available online on a first come first serve basis. Limit (2) tickets per purchase. Pre-paid discounted parking is highly suggested. Concessions for purchase will be available onsite. Chappelle knows how to throw a party.
His last Juke Joint in Yellow Springs drew a list of celebrities that included rappers, Talib Kweli and Q-Tip, CBS News' Gayle King, actor Bradley Cooper, model/actress Naomi Campbell, comedian Donnell Rawlings and magician David Blaine.
