Dayton funk legends The Ohio Players will team up with another legendary group for a big summer concert.

The band will play the Rose Music Center on June 28 in support of fellow Buckeye legends The O'Jays.

The Ohio Players, creators of such hits as "Love Rollercoaster," "Skin Tight" and "Fire," were a hot item themselves in the mid-1970s with three consecutive platinum-selling albums (Skin TightFireHoney).

The band also had two certified Gold albums in the United States with Pain (1972) and Contradiction (1976). The Ohio Players have also been among the most covered and sampled groups from rap artists like Snoop Dogg and Puff Daddy to rock acts like Sound Garden and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Originally hailing from Canton, The O’Jays had seven Top 20 singles throughout the 70s, including “Back Stabbers,” “Love Train” and “For the Love of Money.”

Formed in Canton, Ohio, The O'Jays have eight top 20 albums and seven top 20 hits to their long and esteemed career.
