Do you like jam bands and beer? If you answered in the affirmative, you might enjoy the special event taking place at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company this weekend.

On Jan. 24-25, Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company in Springfield will be hosting a grand tribute to the most prominent jam band in the world — the Grateful Dead. This two-night celebration will feature two Grateful Dead tribute acts: Arrows of Neon and Terrapin Moon.

“We’ve officially reached the dead of winter, but there’s nothing quite like dancing to great music to warm us all up,” said event organizer Brian Johnson. “Terrapin Moon and Arrows of Neon both do an incredible job of performing the Dead’s music and seeing them perform on back-to-back nights provides a real treat for fans.”

If you’re not familiar with the Grateful Dead, they are a heralded rock band from California who have been active in various forms since 1965. They eventually epitomized a particular segment of the hippie culture, called “Deadheads,” and continue to do so even to this day.

The tribute bands will do their best to perform a generous range of music from the Grateful Dead’s vast catalog.

“Both bands do a phenomenal job of capturing the musicality, emotion and fun of a live Dead show,” said Johnson.

Arrows of Neon will be performing on Friday night and Terrapin Moon will hit the stage on Saturday night. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the music starts at 9 p.m. on both nights.
