Corn on the cob eating contests, children’s activities and vendors who make, grow or bake their items are among features for the second annual Fulton Farms Sweet Corn Festival, scheduled for this weekend.

Activities are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the farm also known for its strawberries.

The goal of the festival is "an affordable, family friendly" event, said Matt Bayman, owner of My Miami County.com.

Fulton Farms will roast fresh sweet corn picked each day of the festival, serving it along with watermelon and other farm produce.

Other food vendors will offer breakfast, rib eye sandwiches, pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, ice cream and other items.

Food and music tents with seating will be available. The entertainment will range from bluegrass and country to classic rock and folk music. Among performers will be the Corndrinkers, Scott Oglesbee and Blind Karma, which will play popular songs from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

The family area will include animals, a playground with bales of hay and inflatable units. The People of the Ohio Country will be on hand with a historic encampment.

Contests will include corn on the cob eating for adults, corn shucking for children and a corn hole tournament for which preregistration and a team entry fee required.
