Sip creative holiday cocktails while shopping at Holiday on Ice

Guests of Dayton Visual Art Center’s Holiday On Ice event will shop, eat, be merry, and have the opportunity to vote for their favorite holiday cocktail.

The event, now in its second year, offers guests the opportunity to purchase samples of specialty craft cocktails created by bartenders from some of Downtown Dayton’s popular restaurants including Coco’s Bistro, Corner Kitchen, De’Lish, Lily’s Bistro and Wheat Penny. Roost is joining the line-up of participating restaurants this year.

There will be snacks, music by DJ Jay of Liftoff Entertainment and cocktails powered by Belle of Dayton, which just launched its new gin.

“This is the second year for the Holiday On Ice Preview Party & Artful Cocktail Mix-Off and we are so excited to once again offer our friends and supporters this fun way to experience art in our community,” said DVAC Executive Director Eva Buttacavoli. “Whether you are shopping at the ARTtoBUY Gift Gallery, enjoying yummy hors d’oeuvres, sampling and voting on the Most Artful Cocktail mixed with Belle of Dayton Gin by celebrity bartenders, or mingling with fellow art patrons… there will not be a dull moment at this event.”

The event, which had its debut last year, is the kick-off to DVAC’s ARTtoBUY Holiday Gift Gallery, a popular annual event that transforms the gallery into “an all-art, all-original, all-local gift gallery” offering holiday shopping through late December. This year will feature original work from more than 45 artists and artisans.

Last year Lily’s Bistro Bar Manager Amber Brady nabbed top prize, which she hopes to repeat this year with her entry “About Thyme,” made with 1 oz. Belle Of Dayton gin, 1 oz. housemade cranberry thyme simple syrup, .75 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, topped with Fever Tree Ginger Beer.

Don’t forget to show up with cash in hand to purchase drink samples and get ideas for holiday drinks to make for friends and family this season.
