DIY under $10: Tongs keep your hands safe

Have you ever made toast and then burned your fingers trying to get it out of the toaster? Well, I have the solution for you! A few years ago, a friend of my family gave us this little gadget and we have used them ever since. They were toaster tongs. This nifty little DIY is simple to do and for just $2 you will be able to create a great stocking stuffer for all your friends and family.

YOU WILL NEED

Items I Purchased:

• Wooden Clothes Pins - $1 at the Dollar Tree

• Wooden Craft Sticks - $1 at the Dollar Tree

Items I Already Had Around the House:

• Gorilla Glue

DIRECTIONS

1. Take your craft stick and glue it to the outside of the clothes pin. Depending on the size of you craft sticks, you will want to glue them onto the clothes pin low enough so they almost touch at the end.

2. Take another clothespin and allow it to act as a clamp to hold your craft stick in place.

3. Let the glue dry and repeat on the other side.

4. Once your glue is dry on both sides, you will be ready to use them. Simply treat them as tongs and you can pull your bagels, toast or English muffins from the toaster without ever burning your fingers again!

TIP

If you would like to add a little personality to this DIY project, buy the colored craft sticks or use small wooden embellishments and glue them to the top part of the sticks.
