Gin Rickeys: the drink of choice for “The Great Gatsby”

Literature lovers probably know about Ernest Hemingway’s fondness for mojitos — but he hasn’t been the only author who’s enjoyed a good tipple or two.

"Cocktails for Book Lovers," a newly published book by Tessa Smith McGovern, is a collection of 50 original and classic cocktail recipes based on works of famous authors such as Virginia Woolf, Junot Diaz and Jane Austin, and popular drinks of their eras, from mulled wine to mint juleps. The book devotes a page of biographical facts about each author; the opposing page is all about the cocktail they've either inspired or were known for drinking.
