Battle of the Bartenders just one of many big 2019 food events to love

The Miami Valley Restaurant Association started the  year off with a bang last month with Winter Restaurant Week.

The next MVRA event coming up is Buckeye Vodka’s Battle of the Bartenders at The Steam Plant on Feb. 28. Tickets are $25 and include four Buckeye Vodka samples. VIP tickets are available for $35 and receive one extra flight card and early admission of 5 p.m.

The nonprofit trade organization serving the Greater Dayton food service industry has a full slate of events planned for this summer, including a brand new event on June 22 at The Greene. It's time to mark our calendars to make sure we don't miss all of the excitement and all of the food. Here's a look at all of the dates that have been announced.

The June 22 Art Show and Wine Tasting at The Greene is a brand new event that was conceived by Kelli Jett, marketing director for The Greene, working with Amy Zahora, executive director of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association (MVRA). In a set up very similar to Beer Fest at The Greene, guests will receive a wine glass to sample the different wines in Town Square. There will be live music featuring the Jay Clark Band and different local artists will have booths.

"Our local restaurants are so amazing and we have plenty of fantastic events coming up that will help spotlight the food that they do so well," said Amy Zahora, executive director of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association (MVRA). "We're lucky to have so much culinary talent in this region."
