In honor of National Pancake Day (or really any day of the year), here are some of our favorite stacks in the Gem City.

Here are six restaurants around Dayton where you can enjoy some great pancakes:
1. Hasty Tasty Pancake House
This is truly a Dayton classic. This diner has been serving the Gem City since 1952 and specializes in home cooking and comfort classics. You can get them plain or topped with fruit, whipped cream, chocolate and more. Breakfast is served anytime!

2. The Blueberry Cafe
This charming cafe in Bellbrook serves up delicious, "big as your plate" pancakes. You can go for buttermilk or buckwheat and plain or topped with blueberries (of course), peach cobbler, strawberries and banana or coconut and pecan. While you're there, make sure you get a warm, homemade muffin from the Muffin Man. You can have pancakes for breakfast, lunch or brunch here.

3. The Historic Clifton Mill
If you want your pancakes supersized, this is your place. Breakfast is served all day here at the Mill, which specializes in home-cooked dishes. This restaurant serves up gigantic buckwheat, buttermilk or cornmeal pancakes that are as big as the plate. You can even take the Clifton Mill Pancake Challenge (finish a stack of two pancakes and get an extra one for free — but no sharing)! Plus, you get a gorgeous view of the iconic waterwheel and falls. It’s truly a place to see some beautiful natural scenery. You can even buy the pancake mix in the Country Store or gift shop to make at home.

4. Golden Nugget Pancake House
This Golden Nugget is a Dayton institution, and It’s not uncommon to see long lines on the weekends. One reason why is those tasty pancakes! Go for traditional or try the potato pancake. Large portions and fun flavors.

5. Butter Cafe
This adorable little cafe open for breakfast and lunch is a hidden treasure with amazing breakfast items (and tons of vegan-friendly menu items). The flavors are incredibly unique: Banana nut, cinnamon sugar, jelly donut, almond joy and more. They offer vegan pancakes, too.

6. Christopher's Restaurant & Catering
This restaurant tucked away at the intersection of Dorothy Lane and Woodman just celebrated 25 years. Christopher’s may be best known for its locally sourced dishes and its sandwiches. Menu favorites include buttermilk pancakes, multi-grain, butter pecan, blueberry or banana pancakes with real Ohio maple syrup upon request.
