Rowlett, Texas, tops the list followed by Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Cedar Park, Texas.
Kettering is the only Ohio city on the list that compares 100 cities with populations under 60,000.
The website considered cost of living, crime, median household income, unemployment rate, median home price and homes for sale per capita.
Kettering City manager Mark W. Schwieterman called the ranking great news and the category examined good measurements.
“We pride ourselves on providing a quality of life,” he said. “I think their criteria is indicative that there is certainty a high quality of life in Kettering.”
Kettering ranked 9th in the home price category and 29th in the crime category.
Kettering mayor Don Patterson said he has received several calls and emails about the ranking.
The ranking is more evidence that Kettering is going in the right direction, he said.
“To say that we are excited is a bit of an understatement,” Patterson said. “I thank our residents and volunteers for putting the ground work in. I think it was a combination of a lot of work by a lot of people.”
