Calling all Boy Scouts: Every scout should shovel out the fire hydrants in their neighborhoods. I grew up in upstate New York, where we got lots of snow every winter. Our scout troop had standing orders to clear fire hydrants in our neighborhood every time it snowed. This is an excellent opportunity for a "good turn daily" for Miami Valley scouts.
