Pitts column was powerful; Pitts column was ludicrous

Re "Once we were all 'real' Americans," Jan. 12: Leonard Pitts' column should not be labeled as being from the left nor from the right. It is a powerful and sensitive chronicle of the degradation of civility in our politics and society during Christina Green's short life. No doubt, those who see themselves in the mirror that is his commentary will react with dismissal and name-calling rather than self-reflection.

Leonard Pitts' attempt at fairness about 9-year-old Christina Green's death in Arizona is ludicrous. He says it's the shooter's fault, and then writes a whole column blaming the Tea Party movement.
