THE WEATHER

Before you head out, plan for the weather.

The weather will be warm this weekend, but there is a chance for isolated showers Saturday and a smaller chance on Sunday.

Labor Day Monday will be warm, muggy and sunny with temperatures in the lower to mid 80s.

“It will feel like summer just as we unofficially end it,” News Center 7 Meteorologist Dontae Jones said Friday.

🚣 Paddling

With all of the river and waterway options in and around Dayton, paddling is one outdoor sport the Gem City isn’t lacking in. Whether you’re new at paddling or have years of experience, there’s a waterway, class and vessel for everyone.

🚲 Cycling

Mountain bike rentals: Now through Labor Day, rent mountain bikes at the MetroParks Mountain Biking Area (MoMBA) at Huffman MetroPark on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A variety of bikes are available, with youth rates starting at $6/hour and adult rates at $8/hour. MoMBA features more than 9 miles of trails for bikers at all levels. Rentals include helmets.

The Gem City’s outdoor adventure options go far beyond the water and bike paths. Numerous parks and hiking trails make any season the perfect season to get outside and enjoy nature.
