Black Friday is sometimes known for tension-filled crowds of shoppers competing for high-demand items, but you can relieve some of that stress by having a plan and finding out the hottest deals ahead of time.
Here’s a look at what some of the big retailers are offering and how to navigate the wealth of deals out there. You can find out what other retailers are offering on their websites.
Target
At Target you can start shopping online Thanksgiving Day and get free shipping. At the stores, doors open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The "DoorBuster" deals continue while quantities last. There are a number of deals in Target's 38-page advertisement on everything from computers, televisions, toys, cameras and much more. You can view the ad at target.com.
“The most popular products to purchase are electronics, such as TVs and a Blu-Ray player because we generally discount these items the most and most people are out on a search for these items because of how low the discounts are,” said Maria Stallman, who worked at a Target on Black Friday last year. “My advice is to get there especially early if you are looking for these items at low prices because they sell out quick.”
Walmart
Walmart is promoting its “One Hour Guarantee” that starts on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m. If you are in line within an hour of the event start time, then you will receive “one hour guarantee” item at the special “Black Friday Price,” whether the item is in stock at the time or not. If the item you were guaranteed has been sold out, the store will give out a “one hour guarantee” card to use for purchase. You can go home and register your receipt and put in your nearby Walmart store. You will receive an email when the item is ready for pickup, which will be no later than Christmas.
Some of the deals at Walmart include a 50-inch Led HDTV for $208, saving you $180. An Ipad mini 16GB with Wi-Fi plus a $30 gift card for $199, saving you $40. Also, a Samsung Galaxy Ace on Straight Talk Wireless for $29, saving you $100. For more "one hour guarantee" deals, visit Walmart.com.

You can check the app before you go to the store and decide what deals best suit you and check the app throughout the day in case Walmart announces new deals. “I tend to hit up Walmart first because they have the best toys that I can buy for my grandkids,” said Donna Stamper, a frequent Black Friday shopper. “I always find what I need there and at very low prices. I have to get there on Thanksgiving, though, before everything sells out.”

To use the Kmart layaway plan, start shopping either online or in stores. Add items to your cart and then make a down payment. Every two weeks, you will make a payment either online or in store at the register with any method of payment if you are in the store. After you make your last payment, your order is ready to go!
