Reality and talk show host Julie Chen is once again talking about her experience in Dayton television, but this time it had nothing to do with being traumatized by work place racism.

Chen, the host of CBS’ "The Talk," revealed a game-changing chance her very first news director at WDTN-TV gave her.

Hear about it in the video above.

In 2013, Chen sparked a discussion about beauty when she said she had plastic surgery on her eyes in the 1990s after developing a complex due in part to comments from a WDTN news director. Some wondered if she also had a nose job.

“The Talk” airs weekdays at 2 p.m. on WHIO-TV Channel 7.

Television personality Julie Chen smiles before reveal that a former WDTN news director told her she would never be an anchor her because her eyes looked too Asian and area viewers could not relate to her due to her heritage.
