In a release, Dayton Sgt. Andrew Zecchini said that the man was taken to the hospital, where he was listen in critical, but not life-threatening condition. The sergeant added that the person who heard the man calling for help and called 911 likely saved his life by getting him medical attention in a timely manner.
Zecchini said that there was evidence of illicit drug sales in the home, and evidence was collected.
The shooting remains under investigation, the sergeant said.
