2 seriously injured after pickup hits pedestrians on Wednesday evening

Two people struck by a pickup truck were taken to Miami Valley Hospital with suspected serious injuries Wednesday evening, according to a Dayton Police Department crash report.

The crash was reported at 6:48 p.m. on North Main Street near East Mumma Avenue in Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

After investigation, police said that two pedestrians, both in their 20s, were crossing North Main Street just north of East Mumma Avenue when a 2003 Ford F-150 traveling north at an unknown speed crashed into them.

The report said that the pedestrians were not in a crosswalk, and that this portion of Main Street is lit.

A portion of North Main Street was closed for around three hours as police investigated, according to the report.
