February-like high temperatures break record in Dayton

Dayton saw record-breaking temperatures today, with the National Weather Service in Wilmington comparing conditions to average weather in February.

On Monday, Dayton saw a high of 45 degrees, breaking the record for the lowest maximum temperature for May 1 set in 1994.

On May 1, 1994, Dayton saw a high temperature of 50 degrees.

The NWS said that highs around 45 degrees is the average in Dayton on February 26, 27 and 28.

The cold temperatures came as slow-moving low pressure brought chilly, windy and damp weather.
