Highs winds knocked out power for 22,000 customers in the region, most areas restored

Most counties have seen a return of power to their areas after wind gusts on Saturday left more than 22,000 customers without power.

As of about 4:51 p.m. today, Montgomery County had about 144 outages remaining, down from over 21,000 yesterday , according to AES Ohio’s outage map.

In a Twitter post today, AES said crews made progress overnight and restoration efforts will continue for the 1,600 remaining without power.

Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power, AES Ohio said in a Twitter post on Saturday.

Duke Energy reported more than 4,000 customers without power in Butler County at one point but had the number at 13 by 4 :51 p.m.

Conditions such as these can cause downed power lines due to fallen trees and branches.

The following areas are without power, as reported by AES, Duke Energy and Ohio Edison:

Butler County: 13

Clark County: 3 AES and 199 Ohio Edison

Greene County: 44

Miami County: 5

Montgomery County: 144

Warren County: 1

Estimated restoration time varies by county.
