A Kettering woman is accused of exploiting a 16-year-old foster child and forcing her into prostitution.

Haley Briann Blythe, 25, was indicted Friday by a Montgomery County grand jury for trafficking in persons, endangering children, compelling prostitution, promoting prostitution, two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material of performance and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

The girl was a foster youth from a neighboring county who was placed in Montgomery County, according to a release from the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which investigated the case.

The teen was a runaway from her foster placement who Blythe reportedly took in, said Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Greg Flannagan.

The alleged incidents happened between Sept. 3 and Nov. 7, 2024, according to the indictment.

According to investigators, Blythe knowingly exploited the teen in multiple ways, including facilitating and promoting commercial sexual activity and putting her in unsafe and harmful situations.

“Only a monster could prey on our most vulnerable youth — those in foster care — for sexual exploitation," said Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. “I’m grateful to our task force agents for their hard work to protect the unprotected.”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Blythe Friday evening and booked her into the Montgomery County Jail, where she awaits arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

The Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force is a collaborative effort comprised of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Township Police Department, Oakwood Public Safety Department and Homeland Security Investigations.

Anyone with information regarding suspected human trafficking or the exploitation of youth is urged to contact the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center at 937-225-HELP (4357).
