Miamisburg restaurant to shut down later this week

Eatery was operated by great-granddaughter of the late Woody’s Market owner.

A Miamisburg restaurant is set to serve its last customers later this week.

Dreamy Cafe, 23 E. Central Ave., debuted in August 2020, launched the business in a space that started out in 1928 as The Mutual Building & Loan Company. The building also was home to Blue Note Bistro & Lounge.

Its menu boasts “comfort food with a twist” including burgers, hot dogs, barbecue pulled pork, pulled chicken baskets, a tender basket and peanut butter-and-jelly fried wings. It also offers soups, salads and an ice cream bar offering desserts like “boba” or bubble teas, shaved ice and “Crazy Shakes.”

The business was started by Tasha Walton, the great-granddaughter of the late Woody Bowman, who owned numerous West Carrollton businesses, including Woody’s Market.

“Not having any experience in the restaurant business we gave it our best,” Walton said on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “Our best was not good enough. Overhead compared to what we are bringing in, is not enough.

Walton said she has learned much from the experience and “grown tremendously” through it. She thanked restaurant regulars for their support and love and said Dreamy Cafe would offer menu items at 30 percent off until it sells out.

She said the business was hoping to stay open until Saturday but may sell out by then.
