The van rolled onto its side after it was hit but no injuries were reported. The driver was cited following the collision, Muncy said.
A tow truck responded to help clear the scene.
Crossing gates are there for a reason and people should not drive around them, Muncy said. Some crossings have multiple tracks, so even as the gates are going back up motorists should be sure trains aren’t coming from either direction, he said.
