Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a walk at the Jarvis Fitness Center outdoor track Oct. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. This event is hosted by the 88th Force Support Squadron.

Col. Patrick Miller, 88th Air Base Wing and installation commander, and 88 ABW Command Chief, Chief Master Sgt., Jason Shaffer, will open the event with some remarks directly after the playing of the national anthem.

Due to the pandemic, only 25 members will be allowed on the track at a time, per base regulations to combat COVID-19. All participants will be required to wear face coverings and follow social distance rules at all times. Volunteers will be keeping track of walkers/runners entering and exiting the track to ensure everyone complies with all safety regulations. Lastly, light refreshments (and hand sanitizer) will be provided.
