Two people were cited during a sobriety checkpoint Friday night on Colonel Glenn Highway in Xenia.

Nearly 200 vehicles were checked during the checkpoint from 8 to 10 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. One person was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and another was cited for possession of a controlled substance.

No arrests were made or citations issues during saturation patrols, according to OSHP.

The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, was planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

State law requires law enforcement to announce OVI checkpoint times and locations ahead of time.
