Passport to MetroParks event at RiverScape is Friday, some roads to close

An event on Friday at RiverScape MetroPark in Dayton will include free live music and activities.

The event, Passport to MetroParks, will cause a few sections of downtown roads to be closed in the afternoon and evening.

The following streets will be closed from noon through 11 p.m.:

  • Monument Avenue between Patterson Boulevard and Jefferson Street
  • St. Clair Street between First Street and Monument Avenue (open to local traffic only)
  • Harries Street between the parking garage entrance and Monument Avenue

RiverScape is located at 237 E. Monument Ave.

Passport to MetroParks is slated for 6-9 p.m. and is the official kick-off to the summer festival season. It will include a food truck rally in addition to the music and activities for all ages.

It is an opportunity to “learn about events and programs available in your Five Rivers MetroParks this summer,” according to MetroParks. “Grab a passport and collect stamps as you complete fun games and activities for your chance to win prizes.”

Representatives from the Dayton Celtic Festival, Hispanic Heritage Festivaland Dayton African American Cultural Festival will be on-site. Other activities include music Bingo with a performance by Freakquency, a local band, on the RiverScape pavilion stage.
