A Riverside man was killed and a Dayton man was critically injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Dayton.

Kyle Davis, 27, died at the scene.

Crews were called to a report of a crash with one person trapped at 2:30 p.m. at West Third Street and South Woodward Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A gray Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Davis, crossed the median and crashed into a Ford cargo van heading in the other direction, according to a Dayton police traffic crash report. The Cruze came to a rest in the center of the road, while the van was pushed off the road and crashed into a Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority pole.

The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man, suffered suspected serious injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by the Dayton Fire Department, the report said.

Third Street was reopened at 4:30 p.m.
