Man ID’d who went missing after boat capsized on Great Miami R. near Tipp City

The body of a 71-year-old Englewood man was recovered from the Great Miami River Wednesday afternoon in Tipp City.

The man who went missing Tuesday after a boat capsized on the river between Ross Road and state Route 571 was identified Wednesday evening as Larry Bolden by Miami County Coroner Dr. Bill Ginn.

Ginn said Bolden’s body was recovered at 12:56 p.m. Crews found him in a remote area of the river inaccessible by vehicles near the 2000 block of Ross Road.

The incident was reported Tuesday around 6:45 p.m., according to a according to a sheriff’s office log.

Deputies found two other people who had been on the boat who were able to make it safety to shore.

Crews walked up and down the riverbank Tuesday and used drones, water rescue boats and a helicopter in an attempt to find the man, but were not successful.
