Since its inception on March 30, the Wright Path Facebook page has nearly 900 followers and receives over 15,000 views monthly. McNaughton said by creating the page, he hopes it will help equip the Wright-Patt community with the tools and resources to maintain and build upon the Comprehensive Airmen Fitness domains of mental, physical, social and spiritual readiness.
When followers go to the page, they can expect to see tools and resources for each of those domains. In addition, every Friday at noon, Wright Path resilience chats are delivered by the Wright-Patt AFB master resilience trainers and assistants to walk participants through techniques to adjust to life’s most common hurdles and even those unexpected events like being a full-time teleworker during a pandemic.
“Most importantly, please reach out if you are struggling with anything and we will get you connected to the fantastic helping agencies that are on our installation,” said McNaughton. “In a time of uncertainty, we offer hope and education through virtual on-line classes and courses, Resilience skills facilitation, and updates on how to get in touch with our helping agencies and other Community Action Team programs.”
Along with providing resources and interactive discussions, the page also became the face for donation and volunteer coordination. Volunteer coordinators Bernadette Worsham and Valerie Nagelson were able to collect thousands of COVID-19 deterrence items and provide volunteers to help with essential missions on the installation.
McNaughton credits the success of the new Wright Path Facebook to having a great team to help support it.
“Wright Path page editors Tech. Sgt. Kelcey McDonald and Airman 1st Class Will Dellinger, help make it all happen,” said McNaughton. “McDonald is our master editor and produces fantastic videos while Dellinger ensures that we have content ready each and every day.”
Along with joining in on the weekly chats on Fridays, McNaughton encourages Team Wright-Patt to spread the word about the Wright Path Facebook page. And as it is still in its infancy, McNaughton asks followers to comment and provide feedback so they can continue to improve the page.
