The world's largest online retailer has launched free, one-hour grocery pickup at Whole Foods as part of its $119-a-year loyalty program, Amazon Prime.
More retailers, especially grocery stores, have upped their curbside services in recent months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In this article, I’ll tell you what you need to know about Amazon’s latest perk for Prime members.
How Does One-Hour Whole Foods Curbside Pickup Work?
Because I’m a Prime member, I was able to explore how curbside pickup works inside the Amazon app.
To opt for curbside pickup, Prime members can log on at Amazon.com or the app and select the Whole Foods Market tab.
After you've chosen the items you want, you can select the one-hour pickup window at checkout.
Amazon says that most of their customers who use the app to check in when they arrive at Whole Foods have to wait only about a minute before their orders are brought out to their cars.
Where Is Curbside Pickup Available?
Curbside pickup is available for Prime members at all U.S. Whole Foods stores, Amazon announced in a news release.
See this map of Whole Foods locations to find one near you.
Is One-Hour Curbside Pickup Free?
For Prime members, one-hour curbside pickup is free on orders of $35 or more. If you don’t meet that threshold, the cost for pickup service varies.
Here’s a screenshot of a Whole Foods order under $35 that I put in on the Amazon app.
Final Thoughts
Whole Foods’ free curbside pickup service can be a convenient option that saves Prime members time and money. But if you don’t plan on spending $35 or more, you may choose to avoid the curbside pickup fee and go inside the store.
If you're interested in curbside pickup services at other grocery stores, here are the best ones.
