No arrests made during recent Butler County OVI checkpoint

Three cars were diverted for further investigation, but no arrests were made or citations issued during a recent Butler County OVI checkpoint.

There were 346 cars checked during the July 26 checkpoint in Fairfield at 4400 Dixie Highway, just north of Symmes Road, according to Pete Reising, Butler County OVI Task Force coordinator.

The checkpoint, staffed by Fairfield and Hamilton police, Butler County Sheriff’s deputies and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, operated between 11 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. last Friday.

The checkpoints, along with saturation patrols, are the OVI Task Force’s continuing effort to reduce OVI related crashes that result in injuries and fatalities.
