There were 148 drivers who went through the sobriety checkpoint between 9 p.m. and midnight on Ohio 47 near Lester Road in Sidney. Three drivers were diverted and checked for impairment, but none were arrested, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post.
Troopers and Sidney police officers also patroled the area around the checkpoint, but no traffic stops led to any arrests for motorists operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced this morning that an OVI checkpoint will be held later today from 9 p.m. to midnight on Ohio 47 in Sidney.
The OVI checkpoint — funded by federal grant funds — is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, and is a partnership between the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Sidney Police Department.
The checkpoint also will be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.
