Greene County airport board considers adding a fire station

The Greene County Regional Airport Authority is considering a Beavercreek Twp. proposal to add a new fire station at the airport.

Anticipated increases in businesses and population in the area are factors contributing to the need for additional fire and emergency medical service coverage. The proposed station would reduce fire and emergency personnel response times for airport related calls for service.

The airport board is also considering adding a new access road that would connect Valley Road directly to Indian Ripple Road.

The airport board voted unanimously on Dec. 22 to move forward with discussions which include a possible land donation.

The potential fire station location would require Federal Aviation Administration approval.
