The area surrounding Cross Pointe Shopping Center is experiencing an explosion of apartment construction.
Allure, a 312-unit apartment complex development, is underway on Loop Road and recent approval of site plans for the Gateway Lofts have resulted in big changes to the appearance of land along East Alex Bell Road in Centerville.
Acres of trees have been felled on parts of a nearly 40-acre parcel to make way for Gateway Lofts by Columbus based developer Hallmark Campus Communities.
The plan for Gateway includes 14 walk-up apartment buildings that will include 256 one-bedroom units and 104 two-bedroom units.
Apartment buildings will be either two or three-stories depending on their location in the development. A clubhouse with a swimming pool is to be located near the Alex-Bell entrance. A secondary entrance to Gateway will be from Loop Road at Versailles Drive.
Hallmark is working with existing condominium owners on Chardonnay Drive to integrate the new buildings and layout with the existing ten condos according to the approved site plan with the city of Centerville.
