Charges filed in weekend raid in Celina

Several suspects are facing charges in connection with a drug bust and raid on a party last Saturday night.  The investigation began when the Celina Police Department received a complaint of suspicious activity at a motel room in the America’s Best Value Inn.  Officers checked the registered occupant of the room and began observing the area.

A vehicle belonging to the room’s registered occupant was located on E. Market Street where it was stopped near the intersection of St Rt. 703.  Lonnie Spence, (21), 104 ½ Haig St., Celina, was a rear seat passenger.   The Celina Police Department, Canine Officer Ted, checked the vehicle and alerted for the presence of drugs.  The vehicle and passengers were checked.  A small amount of marijuana was found in the car. Spence was found to be in possession of over 30 grams of heroin, was held on a felony of the second degree.  Danny Steen was wanted on a probation violation and was held.  A third passenger, Jeremy Sholler (22), was held on a parole violation.  The driver of the car was not held.
