Chipmunks and cats

The Journal's editorial on animal abuse and the suggestion to track people who have abused animals is very extreme. I do, however, believe that there should be stronger laws to curb abuse of pets. I am an avid animal lover who has owned both dogs in the past and now cats. My first two dogs? Ingested rat poison — twice each — once in Columbus and once here in Middletown. They endured a lot of suffering. ... My current concern is my cats. I have a neighbor who has admitted putting out rat poison to kill the chipmunks and because they dislike cats, they don't care if it kills the cats also. ... The purposeful poisoning of animals is just as bad or worse as the beating of the alpaca last month because of the prolonged suffering the animal has to bear before dying. ...

President (Barack) Obama can't possibly be as tired of talking about health care reform as we are about hearing his lies about it. Wake up, America. We have people in the White House and in the left wing of Congress who could care less about "we the people" — their employer. Let your representatives know how you feel. We do not want this stupidity.

Now the House is trying to pass a bill without actually voting for it. This way no one will know how he or she voted. If it passes, let's fire all of them. It should be illegal to take the vote away from the American people.
