Couple Shares ‘Drew’s Law’ With Ind. Governor

A Preble County couple shared their story with the governor of Indiana as they fought for justice on behalf of their unborn child.

Dustin and Danielle Steinberger met Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels to discuss Drew’s Law. The law is named after the couple’s unborn son who was killed in a head-on collision on New Year’s Eve 2007.

Investigators said they believe the other driver was intoxicated, but there was a mix up with his blood at the hospital and investigators could never prove it.

The suspected drunk driver received a traffic ticket.

Drew’s Law would make it a felony if someone driving drunk or high on drugs crashes and caused the death of a fetus. The law will go into effect in July.
