“All of a sudden they were trading blows,” the third male said of Mapp and the accused, Steven Bruce Brown Jr., 31.
The fight lasted only a few minutes, the third male said, and ended when Brown drew a gun “he always carried.”
Brown and Mapp were wrestling over the weapon when a single round was fired, the third male said.
UPDATE @ 11:42 a.m.: The fatal shooting of Justin Mapp, 19, of Xenia, is the first homicide in the city since the shooting death of Earnest Starling in November 2014, police said.

UPDATE @ 5:53 a.m.: Steven Bruce Brown Jr., 31, of Xenia, is in custody and being held in the Greene County Jail on the charge of murder, a first-degree felony.
According to the Xenia Police Department, the victim is a 19-year-old male.
Police said the two got into a physical altercation at the residence before the shooting happened.
The victim was transported to Greene Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to a press release.
Police said Brown also lives at the residence. His current bond is $20,000 cash.
The incident remains under investigation.
Investigators will confer with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office further about the charges later this morning, the release says.
INITIAL REPORT (Nov. 17)
Xenia police are investigating after one person was shot and killed inside a home on North Richard Drive early Thursday morning.
Police and medics were dispatched to the home in the 700 block of North Richard Drive around 1:15 a.m. on a report of a person shot.
Investigators said the victim, who was not identified, was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The 911 caller reported the shooter accidental shot the victim, according to police scanner traffic. Police said they were yet to determine if the shooting was accidental or intentional and it was still under investigation.
A second person was transported from the scene in an ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in what police called an apparent assault.
Investigators did not indicate if the assault was related to the shooting.
Police also did not indicate if they have detained anyone in the incident for questioning.
Additional details were expected to be released later on Thursday.
