Arrest made in Chase Bank robbery

Suspect hid in car trunk; He’s suspected in other robberies, FBI says.

UPDATE @ 10:35 p.m.: A 33-year-old Cincinnati man has been arrested in the robbery of the Chase Bank branch earlier today, an incident during which police said the robber word a gladiator-style Halloween mask.

Liston Watson was hiding in the trunk of an older model silver Lexus that sheriff’s detectives were processing as evidence in the robbery, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said in a prepared statement released tonight.

An eyewitness led deputies to the car. The eyewitness said the suspect had fled in an older model silver Lexus. A deputy assigned to the sheriff’s Deerfield Twp. Post spotted the vehicle in the back overflow lot of Performance Lexus in the Kings Automall.

Detectives recovered a loaded firearm, a large amount of cash and the mask and backpack used during the robbery of the bank, in the 3900 block of West U.S. 22.

Watson has been taken to the Warren County Jail, where he’ll be detained on one count of aggravated robbery. He is also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in connection with other robberies.

A gunman wearing a gladiator-style Halloween mask this afternoon robbed a Chase Bank branch.

The suspect around 3:30 p.m. entered the bank, 3965 West U.S. 22, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Bank employees and witnesses said the suspect demanded money from a teller, and then fled with some cash across West U.S. 22, where he got into an older model silver Lexus and drove away.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as a tall thin man in his 20s wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and gladiator-style mask who was carrying a blue or purple backpack.
