A suspect description, surveillance video and additional information about the investigation was not available Sunday afternoon.
The burglar used a rock to break the front door, according to police.
The Dayton Armory burglary came less than a month after an attempted burglary at the Vandalia Range and Armory. Video surveillance showed five people tried to break into the gun shop on Corporate Center Drive on May 18. One of them tried to get in by breaking a window, but failed because of the bars on window. The bars were installed after several gun shop burglaries, according to police.
At this time, investigators do not have any suspects or suspect vehicles.
Vandalia Range and Armory has been the target of several break-ins. In February, Vandalia police were dispatched to Vandalia Range and Armory after firearms were stolen. Later that month, Denard C. Smith, 33, of Springfield has been indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury in connection to the burglary.
Last year, the gun shop was one of three burglarized within a few days. The three-day heist ended with 77 firearms, including 42 from Vandalia Range and Armory, being stolen. Palmer Firearms, in Beavercreek, and The Miami Armory, in Miami Township, were also targeted.
The thieves took 75 handguns and 2 semi-automatic rifles, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
