5 children in Urbana home during drug raid

Five children were inside an Urbana home during a drug raid Saturday night.

Urbana Police had been conducting what they've described as a "lengthy covert investigation" at 319 Sycamore St. which resulted in the seizure of drugs and drug abuse instruments, according to a news release from the department.

Five adults were questioned during the investigation:

Amanda Ratcliff, 28
Bryer Ratcliff, 23
Jerry Fraley, 31
Destiny Kreisel, 24 of 319 Sycamore Street
and Larry Ratcliff, 26, of Casstown, Ohio.

Later, Amanda Ratliff, Bryer Ratliff and Jerry Fraley were transported to the police division for further investigation, according to Urbana Chief Matt Lingrell.

The seven children living in the home range in age from nine months to 11 years old. Five of the children were present at the time of the raid.

Chief Lingrell stated in the release that the three subjects questioned will face misdemeanor and felony drug and child endangering charges, which will be turned over to a Champaign County Grand jury.

This is the 6th drug investigation raid of an Urbana residence that Urbana police have conducted in 2014.
