Clayton jewelry store target of break-in

UPDATE @5:28 a.m.

Police said a burglar used a cinder block, rock or another blunt object to break glass and gain entry into a Clayton jewelry store early Thursday morning.

The burglar also busted a display case, but it’s unknown what was stolen. Officers said inventory will have to be done to determine what, if anything, was stolen.

Detectives will be looking at surveillance video of the robbery, police said.

No arrests have been made.

Police are investigating a break-in at a Clayton jewelry store.

Police responded to Marlyn Jewelers in the 8300 block of North Main Street around 4:30 a.m. after a burglary alarm sounded. Upon arrival, police found the front glass door had been shattered.

It’s unknown if anything was stolen.
