Coach outlet store robbed again

Two thieves got away with $1,400 worth of purses in Sept. 15 robbery.

MONROE — Monroe police are searching for two thieves who stole more than $1,400 worth of purses Sept. 15 from the Coach store at Cincinnati Premium Outlets off Interstate 75 and Ohio 63.

“Upon arrival, I spoke with several employees who stated that around 3:15 p.m. two black males wearing jeans and white T-shirts walked into the store, picked up several items and exited the business,” said police officer Douglas Wolfe.

One of the employees grabbed at the handbags causing one of the men to drop some of the merchandise, Wolfe said. A total of four handbags valued at $358 each were taken, he said.

The robbers are suspected of stealing merchandise from Coach in the past, said Lt. Frank Robinson.

“We’ve had several crews come through there,” Robinson said.

“Unfortunately, we’ve made some arrests on some of them, and we’ve noticed that they have a pattern, like Mondays and Fridays.

“It’s just a sign of the times,” he said.

Many thefts are occurring in name-brand stores that have greater resale potential — especially kids clothing stores — such as The Children’s Place Outlet, OshKosh B’gosh, Coach, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and The Gap, police said.
