A Dayton man accused of child sex crimes will spend his 33rd birthday tomorrow in jail.

Nicholas L. Sims, 32, was arrested in Fairborn Thursday on an arrest warrant after he was indicted Tuesday on 23 felony counts by a Montgomery County grand jury. He is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.

Sims was indicted on the following charges: six counts of rape of a child younger than 10; four counts of sexual battery; and 13 counts of gross sexual imposition, all felonies, according to the grand jury indictment report.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Sims’ allegedly abused a female victim between March and December 2013, beginning when the girl was 7. If convicted as charged, prosecutors say Sims could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
