Dayton woman held after child’s father stabbed

A Dayton woman, Regina Holt, was arrested on suspicion of felonious assault and domestic violence around 3 a.m. Monday. She allegedly stabbed her child’s father in the neck with a piece of glass in the 3000 block of West Riverview Avenue, according to a Dayton police report.

Police said the 36-year-old claimed her act was in self-defense. She told police that her baby’s father had been beating her “all day long,” and that he threatened to kill her, says the report.

Holt was transported to the Montgomery County Jail after she was treated by medics for a cut on the forearm, according to the report.

First Report @11:26 p.m. Monday:

One person was taken into custody in a stabbing or cutting in the 3000 block of West Riverview Avenue on Monday night.

According to Dayton police, a woman was detailed after a male called police to report he had been stabbed or cut during an argument with the woman.

When police arrived, the woman reportedly had a piece of glass in her hand that possibly was used to cut the male’s neck.

She was identified to police as the complainant’s sister and the victim was identified as the father of the woman’s child.

The stabbing/cutting occurred just after 9 p.m.
