Gunshot victim stopped in Jefferson Twp. says he was shot in Dayton

A gunshot victim was inside a car that was pulled over Thursday night for running traffic lights in Jefferson Twp.

According to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, police pulled over the car at 9:19 p.m., with the driver pulling his black Lincoln into a Hanover Avenue home’s driveway.

Deputies tried to get the driver to get out of the car, the release said, but the driver said he couldn’t because he had been shot.

The man inside the black Lincoln said he was shot in the area of Coulson and Liscum drives in Dayton, the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center said.

Deputies put a tourniquet on the shooting victim as they waited for medics to arrive and take him to the hospital, according to reports.

According to the release, the man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This shooting remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
