Huber Heights bus aide fired for physical force with student

The Huber Heights school board on Thursday fired a bus aide for physically mishandling a student in October.

The decision to remove Alisha Stafford, who was hired in August, came after a board vote Thursday evening.

In a letter recapping Stafford’s disciplinary hearing, the district said she used “non-approved/inappropriate physical force on a student for discipline,” and “failed to follow and utilize district approved non-violent crisis intervention training.”

Stafford had been on paid administrative leave since Oct. 9, according to her personnel file. She was asked not to communicate with students enrolled in the Huber Heights school district. The termination was effective Oct. 25.

Stafford had been employed by the school district since August of this year.

The school district declined to comment on the matter saying, “Out of respect for students and staff, Huber Heights City Schools does not publicly discuss personnel matters.”
