Huber Heights police chase suspect charged

The suspect in a Huber Heights police chase was formally charged Monday for robbery and failure to comply with police orders.

Daniel A. Terry, 26, was charged in connection to a police chase after an apparent robbery at the AutoZone at 6246 Brandt Pike.

Police said the unarmed suspect claimed to have a gun just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday when he allegedly stole cash from the auto parts store.

He then fled on foot, got in a car and gave chase to police, authorities said.

Police followed Terry westbound on I-70. The chase ended when the Illinois registered maroon Honda driven by Terry spun out at the Brandt Pike exit.

No one was injured in the incident, although police drew guns on the suspect. AutoZone's cash was apparently recovered from the scene, police said.

Elsewhere, Terry already has criminal charges against him, court records show.

In Indiana, Terry is charged with felony counts of strangulation and theft, in addition to a misdemeanor count of battery resulting in bodily injury, according to Henry County, IN Circuit Court records.
