5 indicted for cheating at Cincinnati casino

A Lebanon man is one of five people indicted on charges of cheating at a new Cincinnati casino.

Alex Caudill, 22, is accused of cheating while playing craps and blackjack at Horseshoe Casino, according to Local12. Also indicted are Shawn Williams, 33, of Colerain Twp.; Toriauna Anderson, 21, of Westwood; Jonathan Key, 23, of Springdale and Kenneth Stone, 31, of Avondale.

Each person faces two counts of a Casino Gaming Offense, according to records.

In the three different types of cheating committed by the defendants, some capped their bets, or tried to put more money on a table after betting closed. Others “pinched” their bets, meaning they attempted to take back money on a losing bet. In another type of cheating, the defendants tried to put a bet out ona winner after the outcome of the game was decided.

Cheating incidents are caught by casino staff and video cameras, records state.

“The Horseshoe Casino may be the most surveilled area in Hamilton County. I can think of nothing more ignorant than these people who believe they are going to get away with this activity,” said Prosecutor Joe Deters.
